A delegation from Kashim Ibrahim University, led by its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Babagana Gutti, paid an appreciation visit to the institution’s Chancellor, Oba Babatunde Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, at his palace in Ile-Ife.

Professor Gutti said the visit was to express gratitude to the monarch for honoring the university’s invitation to attend its maiden combined convocation ceremony despite short notice. He said the Chancellor’s presence lent prestige and significance to the historic event.

The Vice-Chancellor described it as a distinct honor for the university to have the Ooni as its Chancellor and conveyed greetings from the Visitor to the university, Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, as well as from the Pro-Chancellor and other stakeholders. He said the institution hoped to sustain regular engagements with the monarch despite his busy schedule.

The university’s Registrar, Mrs. Jallaba M. Sheikh, said the institution, as a young and growing university, required support, particularly in infrastructure development. She appealed for the Chancellor’s backing in executing key projects, noting that one major project would be named in his honor.

Responding, Oba Ogunwusi thanked the delegation for what he described as a thoughtful and memorable visit.

He urged the university community to regard him as a partner in progress and pledged to mobilize his network and experience to support its growth.

He commended Professor Gutti’s leadership and expressed confidence in the university’s future, reaffirming his commitment to advancing academic excellence and institutional development.
