IGP Olatunji Disu Appoints DCP Anthony Okon Placid As Force PRO

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police, Anthony Okon Placid, as the new Force Public Relations Officer.

DCP Placid, a seasoned officer with vast experience in operations, intelligence, training, and international peacekeeping, now takes over the strategic role of managing the image and communications of the Nigeria Police Force.
Born in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, the new FPRO holds degrees from University of Uyo, University of Jos, and the National Open University of Nigeria.

He joined the Police as a Cadet ASP in 1996 at the Nigeria Police Academy, Kano, and was commissioned in 1998.

DCP Placid has served in several strategic roles within and outside Nigeria, including international assignments with the African Union and the United Nations.

He is also a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and a graduate of the Senior Executive Course at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru.
