SWUYN Anniversary: Unemployed Youths Are National Asset, Says Prof. Dileep Kumar

Abuja, Nigeria – Prof. Dileep Kumar, former Vice Chancellor of Hensard University and International Research Fellow at Degi University Malaysia, has declared that unemployed youths in Nigeria should be viewed as a strategic national asset, capable of driving economic growth and innovation.
Delivering a keynote lecture at the SWUYN@10 Anniversary and National Unemployed Youths Day, Prof. Kumar emphasized that Nigeria’s youthful population is a valuable resource, possessing immense potential for entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable economic development.
He urged government institutions, private sector leaders, and development partners to invest in youth empowerment, technology-driven skills, and entrepreneurship development, noting that many unemployed youths possess talents and digital skills that can transform industries.
Prof. Kumar encouraged unemployed youths to see their situation as a phase of preparation, emphasizing resilience, continuous learning, and entrepreneurial thinking as key factors for future success.
SWUYN National President, Comr. Preye V. Tambou, praised Prof. Kumar’s visionary message, reaffirming the organization’s mission to transform unemployed youths into empowered citizens.
The event continues with skills development sessions, panel discussions, and youth empowerment programs aimed at equipping participants with practical tools for economic independence and leadership.
