Delta Police Raid Drug Cartel, Arrest Suspected Drug Baron and Cultist

The Delta State Police Command has intensified its crackdown on criminal activities, recording significant breakthroughs in the fight against illicit drug trafficking and cultism across the state.
The Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Aina Adesola, carried out coordinated operations that led to the arrest of a suspected drug baron and a suspected cultist, alongside the recovery of dangerous substances and firearms.
In a statement issued on Sunday, March 22, 2026, by the Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, the Command disclosed that operatives of the DOPS Buffalo Patrol Team, in collaboration with members of the Achalla Ibusa Vigilante, successfully raided a drug hideout in Asaba.
The operation, which took place on March 17, 2026, targeted the residence of a suspected drug baron popularly known as “Madam Do Good” located along the Power Line axis of Asaba. During the raid, operatives recovered various illicit substances, including Ice, Colorado, Canadian Loud, suspected Indian hemp, and tramadol.
The police arrested multiple suspects during the operation, identified as Faith Uyaterimo, Peter Nnamani, Paul Nnamani, Abuchi Miracle, and three others. The suspects, along with the recovered exhibits, are currently in police custody while investigations continue.
In a separate operation on March 19, 2026, police operatives attached to Ekpan Police Station acted on credible intelligence to arrest an 18-year-old suspect, Ovie Ejeh, at Uwangwe College in Warri.
According to the statement, the suspect was apprehended while acting suspiciously within the area. A search conducted on him led to the recovery of a locally fabricated cut-to-size single-barrelled gun loaded with two live cartridges.
During interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to being a member of a cult group. He is currently in custody alongside the recovered firearm as further investigations are underway.
Reiterating the Command’s commitment to proactive policing, CP Aina Adesola emphasized that divisional police officers and tactical commanders have been directed to adopt intelligence-driven strategies in combating crime across the state.
He also issued a stern warning to drug traffickers, stating that the police will continue to track down and apprehend individuals involved in the sale and distribution of illicit drugs, ensuring they face the full weight of the law.
The Delta State Police Command assured residents of its continued dedication to maintaining law and order through sustained operations and community collaboration.
