The Delta State Police Command has scored significant operational successes in its ongoing fight against violent crime, following the arrest of two suspected armed robbers and the recovery of several illegal firearms and ammunition.

On 9th March 2026, at about 5:00 a.m., a distress call was received from the Egbokodo Itsekiri Community, reporting an attempted armed robbery at a private residence. Responding promptly, operatives from ‘A’ Division, Warri, in collaboration with community members, cordoned off the area.

During the operation, Emmanuel Solomon, a 38-year-old male suspect, was apprehended within the premises. A search of the vicinity led to the recovery of a bag containing two double-barreled cut-to-size guns and five live cartridges. Investigations into the case are ongoing.

In a separate operation, on 25th March 2026 at about 1:00 p.m., officers of the Command’s Raiders Squad, acting on credible intelligence, conducted a stop-and-search along the Benin–Asaba Expressway near Custom Market in Oshimili North LGA.

The operation led to the arrest of Aminu Inusa, a 23-year-old male, in possession of a locally fabricated Beretta pistol. The suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue.

The Command commended its operatives for their professionalism, swift response, and dedication, and urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information. The Delta State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to ridding the State of criminal elements.
