Operatives of the State Anti-Cult Unit (SACU), acting on credible intelligence, raided the residence of a 29-year-old suspect, Evan Olokpa Igbunu, in the NDDC area of Sapele on April 2. A search of the premises led to the recovery of a Beretta pistol and three rounds of live ammunition concealed within the building. The suspect is currently in police custody, while investigations are ongoing.
Illicit Drugs Recovered in Ovwian-Aladja
In a separate operation on April 1, operatives of the Ovwian-Aladja Division raided a suspected drug location along the Igbogidi axis following surveillance reports of suspicious activities. The Command also recorded success in anti-kidnapping efforts with the rescue of a victim abducted on April 1 at Denedo Extension, Abraka. Police operatives, in collaboration with local vigilantes and hunters, tracked the kidnappers to a bush along the railway line. Upon sensing the approach of security forces, the suspects abandoned the victim and fled. The rescued individual is reported to be safe and has provided useful information to aid ongoing investigations.
