President Tinubu Congratulates New Kano Deputy Governor
By Micheal Chukwuebuka
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, the new deputy governor of Kano State, following his swearing-in by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Tuesday.
A statement by Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga says, Governor Yusuf nominated Garo to fill the vacant position created by the departure of Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam, who resigned in the aftermath of the governor’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The 48-year-old politician had served in various positions, including Chairman of Kabo Local Government and as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs under the administration of Dr Abdullahi Ganduje.
President Tinubu commended Governor Yusuf for the appointment, which solidified the much-needed unity within the ranks of the APC in Kano State.
He urged the new deputy governor to work assiduously alongside the governor to provide the leadership needed to accelerate the state’s development.
President Tinubu wishes Mr Garo well in the new responsibility.
