President Tinubu Assures Rescue of Kidnapped Victims in Oyo

President Bola Tinubu has condemned the reported killing of one of the teachers abducted by bandits in Esiele community, Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing the act as barbaric.
In a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President assures that the Federal Government is working closely with the Oyo State Government and security agencies to rescue all the remaining victims.
Bandits had invaded the community last Friday and abducted staff, students and pupils of Community Grammar School, Baptist Nursery and Primary School, as well as a Primary School.
According to the statement, security operatives are carrying out round-the-clock operations to rescue the victims and apprehend the attackers and their collaborators.
President Tinubu sympathised with Governor Seyi Makinde, the government and people of Oyo State, as well as the families of the abducted victims.
The President also commended the Inspector-General of Police and the Commissioners of Police in Oyo and Kwara States for their swift response and deployment of tactical and Intelligence Response Team operatives for the rescue mission.
He disclosed that the Inspector-General of Police is personally leading the technology-driven operation on his directive, expressing confidence that security agencies would soon record a breakthrough.
President Tinubu further stated that the increasing cases of kidnapping in parts of the country underscore the urgent need for the establishment of state police, urging the National Assembly to expedite action on the legislation.
