Guwor Urges Unity And Commitment To Good Governance, As Delta Assembly Resume Fourth Plenary Session

Meanwhile, the speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Guwor Emomotimi Dennis has called on members of the House to remain united, focused and committed to delivering effective legislation as the house on Tuesday resumed plenary for the fourth session of the eighth assembly.
Delivering his welcome address during plenary, the Speaker expressed gratitude to God for preserving members through the legislative recess and enabling them to reconvene in good health to continue their constitutional responsibilities.
Stressing that the thanksgiving service offered lawmakers the opportunity to reflect on the assembly’s achievements over the past three years while renewing their commitment to quality legislation, effective oversight and purposeful representation.
“As we begin this fourth session, I urge all honourable members to remain steadfast, focused, and dedicated to the discharge of our constitutional duties. The expectations of our people remain high, and it is our collective responsibility to continue enacting laws and undertaking legislative actions that will promote peace, prosperity, and good governance across Delta State,” he said.
Noting that the fourth session presents another opportunity for the legislature to consolidate on its achievements, strengthen collaboration with the executive and judiciary, and pursue legislative initiatives that would improve the welfare of the people.
He added that, “the fourth session presents another opportunity for us to consolidate on our achievements, strengthen our partnership with other arms of government, and pursue legislative initiatives that will positively impact the lives of our people”.
Expressing confidence in the unity of the assembly, he said the cooperation and commitment that had characterized the house would continue to produce remarkable legislative successes in the months ahead.
He concluded by welcoming members back to plenary and wished them a productive, peaceful and successful fourth session, while praying for God’s continued blessings upon Delta State.
