PAP: Ogidigba Urges Amnesty Leaders to Unite Over Stipends’ Review, Welfare

The National Chairman of Phase 3 of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Gen. Godstime Ogidigba, has attributed the delay in the proposed increase of monthly stipends for beneficiaries to what he described as disunity among some leaders within the Amnesty Programme.

He made the call while speaking at the 5th anniversary celebration of the Congress TV/ Newspaper,  appealing to genuine ex-agitator commanders and beneficiaries to encourage their leaders to set aside differences and work together in the interest of all beneficiaries.

According to him, unity among stakeholders is essential to advancing discussions on the long-awaited review of the monthly stipend.

He noted that the current monthly stipend of ₦65,000 is no longer sufficient to meet the basic needs of beneficiaries and their families in view of the prevailing economic realities in Nigeria.

He stressed that improving the welfare of beneficiaries should remain a collective priority for all stakeholders in the programme.
Ogidigba also called on beneficiaries and the public to refrain from placing sole responsibility for the delay on the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Chief Dennis Brutu Otuaro, PhD.

He maintained that resolving the issue requires collective commitment and cooperation among the programme’s leadership to ensure a favorable outcome for beneficiaries.
