Father Charged With Abusing 3-Month-Old Daughter

A Kentucky father accused of abusing his three-month-old daughter reportedly told detectives he was “training” her and “set boundaries” when confronted over the alleged abuse.

Shaun Webb, 36, was arrested on Friday, August 21, 2026, in Boone County, Kentucky, and faces 10 felony counts of criminal abuse.

According to deputies, an out-of-state family member gave them “nanny-cam” footage obtained from Webb’s wife, the baby’s mother. The footage allegedly shows Webb slapping his daughter in the face as she cried on August 19. He was also reportedly seen holding the infant by the back of her head while covering her face for about 19 seconds, leaving her legs flailing. In other incidents, he allegedly covered her face with his hand for several seconds.

The criminal complaint states that Webb yelled, “stop crying” and “you’re going to learn!”

Webb, who also has a two-year-old son, reportedly admitted to detectives that he had done the same to the boy multiple times until he was nine months old.

During questioning, Webb allegedly said children are “like a dog, you have to train them and set boundaries.” He described his daughter’s crying as something that “triggers me, like nails on a chalkboard.”

He reportedly said he covered her mouth and nose “not to cause harm, but to deprive her of oxygen,” describing the act as an “action to train the behavior.”
