Yari, Matawalle’s Appointments Good Omen for APC – Zamfara Chairman

The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has hailed the appointment of former governor of the state, Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari, and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, to the party’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.

Yari was appointed Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council, while Matawalle was named Deputy Director, Security and Intelligence.

The appointments were contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Reacting to the development, the APC state chairman, Kabiru Moyi Birnin Magaji, described the appointments as a “good omen” for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Muhammad, the chairman said the Zamfara APC received the appointments “with gratitude to God and appreciation to Mr President.”

He said the wealth of experience of Yari and Matawalle would contribute significantly to the success of the presidential campaign.

“The entire APC Zamfara State family has total confidence that the active involvement of Senator Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar and Honourable Minister Bello Mohammed Matawalle Maradun will not only pave way for the success of Mr President but also all the other APC candidates in Zamfara State,” he said.

Moyi also expressed optimism that the appointments, alongside the leadership of Governor Dauda Lawal in the state, would strengthen the party’s prospects in the coming elections.

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the national leadership of the APC for what he described as the foresight behind the appointments.

The chairman further congratulated Yari and Matawalle, saying their selection was a recognition of their experience and contributions to the party.

He assured the Presidential Campaign Council of the continued support and cooperation of the Zamfara APC, saying the party would work towards achieving victory at all levels in 2027.

Moyi prayed for the success of the APC and its candidates in the forthcoming elections.
