The Matawalle Political Movement (MPM) has felicitated Muslims in Zamfara State and across Nigeria on the occasion of the Eid-el-Maulud celebration, urging them to emulate the virtues and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The movement, in a statement issued yesterday by its Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris Gusau, on behalf of the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, said the annual commemoration provided an opportunity for Muslims to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings on peace, unity, love and peaceful coexistence.

According to the statement, the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) covered every aspect of human life and should serve as a guide to Muslims in their daily dealings.

MPM urged the Muslim faithful to use the Maulud celebration, preaching sessions and prayers to seek divine intervention for the restoration of peace in Zamfara and Nigeria.

The movement noted that this year’s Maulud celebration came at a critical period for the country as preparations were already underway for another election cycle.

It therefore called on Nigerians to intensify prayers for divine guidance and peaceful elections, stressing the need for an atmosphere where citizens would be able to participate in the electoral process without fear or threats.

“Let us use the Maulud preachings and prayer sessions to supplicate Allah for the return of peace in our dear state and Nigeria at large,” the statement said.

MPM also called on Muslims to uphold the Prophet’s exemplary character and values while seeking Allah’s guidance and assistance in overcoming the challenges confronting the country.

The movement prayed that Allah would make the Maulud celebration rewarding for Muslims and grant peace, unity and stability to Zamfara State and Nigeria.
