YCOM Movement Applauds Oborevwori Over Aladja/Ogbe-Ijoh Peace, Seeks Permanent Peace, Boundary Demarcation, Higher Institution

The YCOM Movement in Warri South-West LGA of Delta State has applauded the Governor of Delta State, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, for sustaining the enduring peace between Aladja community and Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom after several years of conflict and killings.

In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Comrade Yerinbowei Felix Company, the group said permanent peace between the two communities is not negotiable.

According to him, “The need for permanent peace between Aladja community and Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom is not negotiable,” adding that providing a clear boundary adjustment would be the pathway to lasting peace.

He said: “Providing a clear boundary adjustment would be a leeway to permanent peace between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities.”

The group further demanded that the Delta State Government should establish a higher institution in Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, being the headquarters of Warri South-West Local Government Area, to ease educational access for the people.

Comrade Yerinbowei, who also doubles as the National Coordinator of Independent Grassroot Liberators (IGL), lamented that Ogbe-IjohWarri Kingdom is highly populated with several communities and hosts several oil companies, yet lacks any Federal and state-owned tertiary institution.

He said: “Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom is highly populated with several communities, and host to several oil companies but does not have any Federal and state institutions such as the College of Education, Technical College, Polytechnic or University to ease educational access.”

He described the situation as injustice and intentional educational marginalization against the Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom people by governments at various levels.

The group therefore called on Governor Oborevwori to act without further delay, saying: “For fairness, equity and justice, the Delta governor, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori should swing into action without further delay to establish a school of higher learning” in Ogbe-Ijoh.

According to the group, establishing a higher institution of learning in Ogbe-Ijoh in Warri Kingdom, headquarters of Warri South West LG would equally strengthen the peace between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities.
