2027: Mulade Meets Monbene III, Unveils Seven-point Agenda For Warri Federal Constituency
By Joseph Bienbo, Warri
Ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election, Chief Sheriff Mulade, an aspirant for the Warri Federal Constituency seat, has continued his consultations across the constituency with a visit to the ancient Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom.
Mulade visited the palace of His Royal Majesty, Pere Ama-Okosu Monbene III, the Pere Ama-Okosu of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, where he sought the monarch’s royal blessing, prayers and guidance as he prepared for his political ambition.
The aspirant paid homage to the traditional ruler by prostrating before the monarch and was subsequently offered prayers for peace, wisdom and success in his quest to represent the people of Warri Federal Constituency.
Addressing the gathering at the palace, Mulade said his aspiration was driven by what he described as the need for stronger representation and a more responsive voice for the people of Warri Federal Constituency.
He maintained that many residents had continued to feel inadequately represented, promising that, if elected, his administration would prioritise the concerns of ordinary citizens and pursue initiatives aimed at improving their welfare.
Speaking on security, Mulade, who is seeking the seat on the platform of the NDP, linked his campaign to the need to address the crime and insecurity concerns affecting the area. He said his proposed approach would focus on creating opportunities for young people while promoting a safer environment for residents and businesses.
According to him, sustainable economic development would be difficult to achieve without addressing insecurity and providing meaningful opportunities for youths.
Mulade also presented his seven-point development agenda to the monarch, outlining what he described as his priorities for Warri Federal Constituency. The agenda covers security and crime reduction; youth employment and empowerment; education and skills development; accessible healthcare; infrastructure and environmental improvement; inclusion and support for women and vulnerable groups; as well as effective representation and accountability.
He assured the monarch that the interests of Warri and its people would remain central to his proposed programmes and legislative priorities, should he receive the mandate to represent the constituency.
The visit also attracted elders, youths and women from the kingdom, who offered prayers for the aspirant and expressed their views on the importance of responsive leadership and representation.
The consultation at Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom forms part of Mulade’s broader engagement with traditional institutions and stakeholders ahead of the 2027 elections.
With the royal audience and prayers received from Pere Ama-Okosu Monbene III, Mulade campaign described the visit as another step in its stated pursuit of a Warri Federal Constituency centred on peace, unity, development and public service.
