Uwvie killing: Popular Effurun-based pastor’s security operatives fingered

Following the extrajudicial killing of two tricycle passengers in Uwvie, Uwvie Local Government Area of Delta State on Tuesday evening at about 7 pm, an investigation by concerned residents of the area revealed that the gruesome killing was perpetrated by suspected security operatives of a popular pastor (name withheld) in Uti road, Effurun community.

This is one incident that had received strong public condemnation in recent times as it caused serious outrage in the area.

Some rights groups had called on the Delta State Police commissioner to swiftly investigate the incident and bring to book security operatives responsible for the dastardly act.

However, Police Spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe, when contacted, said he would only brief the media when the investigation is completed, adding that the police are not aware of any clergyman orderly being responsible for the act.
