Police arrest son over attempt to use mother for ritual in Delta

The Orokpe police command in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta state has arrested a son, one Mr Emma Ere-egarnoma for trying to use his mother for money ritual.

The incident occurred in Okuokoko community- near Warri in Delta state at 8pm on Tuesday.

In a facebook post by Joseph Adjari said the son has been arrested and now detained in Orokpe police station.

It was gathered that Mrs Oke Ereganoma hailed from Odorubo Community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta, but resides in Okuokoko community-near Warri.

The woman who survived ritualist attack by her son was said to have been selling food stuff at Okuokoko market beside the police station.

The woman who narrated her ordeal said for some days ago, her son has been boasting that he must ‘drive GLK’ this week’.

She further explained that on Tuesday at about 8pm the son invited her to his house at Caroline street Okuokoko and that he had surprise for her.

She stated that on getting there she saw the son in joyous mood with loud music, then after the son lock the door and was trying to strangle her to death by trying to pluck off her eyes and she started screaming for help but due to the loudness of the music there was no respond.

The woman said suddenly strength came upon her and she ran outside for help and neighbour came for her rescue and that the son was caught and had been taken to Orerokpe police station.

However, Mrs Oke is currently receiving medical attention in an Hospital in Okuokoko.

Attempt to contact the Orokpe police command for comment was abortive at press time.
