IYC Lagos chapter felicitates Tompolo on maritime man of the year award

The Chairman Ijaw Youth Council, IYC Lagos Chapter, Comrade Tiki ma L. Arigban on behalf of members of the council has congratulated High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo as he bagged the ‘MARITIME MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD 2022’.

It was learned that Comrade Tikima yesterday on the 9th of January 2023, led a delegation, which comprised Excos and members of the Lagos Chapter of the Council to attend the Award Night at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos, which was put together by the MD/CEO of Maritime Media Limited and publisher of Shipping World, in honor of Tompolo, who was ably represented by Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, the commissioner representing Ijaw nationality, Desopadec.

According to the Council, the award was well deserved, considering Tompolo’s positive and enormous impacts in the Maritime sector over the years.

IYC further maintained that Tompolo did not emerge the winner of the “Maritime Man of Year Award” on a platter of gold or by accident, but it was as a result of his diligence and commitment towards National development and economic growth as well as his unalloyed patriotism to the Country.

The Lagos IYC chairman also added that Tompolo deserved a national honor for all that he had done, and that which he is doing presently for the general good of Nigeria.
