PDP vice presidential candidate Okowa loses Delta to Obi

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday declared the candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, as the winner of last Saturday’s presidential election held in Delta State.
The State Presidential Election Collation Officer, Prof. Owunari Abraham George will, made the announcement at the collation centre in INEC State Head Office in Asaba on Tuesday.
The collation officer Georgewill from the University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, announced the results after the collation of results from the 25 local government councils in the state.
According to him, the LP candidate, Peter Obi, polled 341,866 votes to defeat his major river, Alhaji Atiku Abubarkar, whose running mate, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, is the governor of Delta.
