A leading socio-political group, the Niger Delta Youth Observers (NDYO) on Saturday gives strategic points why Deltans should massively vote for the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), Rt.Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori in next Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

According to the group, the PDP candidate was better placed to win the next Saturday’s governorship election because of his contributions as speaker of the State House of Assembly and numerous infrastructural projects executed by the outgoing Delta State Government.

A statement signed by its Secretary, Comrade Ogie Samson, urged that the electorates in the state should vote for him because of his closeness to the grassroots and understanding of the street and state at large.

The statement reads partly, “The electorates in Delta State should not vote for Labour Party (LP), the All Progressive Congress Party (APC) or any other opposition parties because Sheriff Oborevwori is a man who understands the street and state at large and also have been on ground and around the masses before he was called by masses of intellect to contest as governor come 2023 Governorship election.”

NDYO appealed to the people not to allow anger becloud their sense of judgement with campaign of blackmail by the opposition parties and their candidates, stressing that the PDP candidate because he is far better than those contesting against him.

The group also advised those publishing falsehood and propaganda against Oborevwori and the State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa on social media to desist henceforth and put the interest of the state first so as not to cause more harm than good.

Samson said, “The truth is that Sheriff Oborevwori is a pure standout amongst all the governorship candidates. We should understand that because of PDP, Delta has lots of roads and infrastructures not to mention but few for which included the revenue office at airport road, road in Ubeji and a permanent site with a good structure in DESOPADEC, and not to talk about many projects done through the good will of Chief Bashorun Askia Ogie under PDP.

“APC Governorship candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege could not do anything in the state since inception of his office as Deputy Senate President but now that he needs power, he has started installing street lights that state existing government of PDP has done before now and buying cheap rice to deceive people.

“We want to confidently say that those who had worked for Ovie Omo-Agege, even his party members knows he don’t empower those who work for him but rather will put his family members in strategic position to act on things for his personal interest, not to talk of chief Ogboru who has been contesting many times and later collect supporters money and leave the state awaiting the next election.

“As for LP governorship aspirant, he has been on the street of Lagos looking for greener pasture but was called to take free ticket because LP needed someone to represent them in the election of governorship aspirant without considering what will be at stake if elected without experience into the office as governor”, the group asserted.
