A faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by Nafiu Bala Gombe has officially rejected the authority of Senator David Mark and his supporters, declaring that a newly inaugurated “national headquarters” under his name is illegitimate. The Bala-led faction claims Mark’s group lacks constitutional or legal recognition within the party and warned that their actions are misleading members and the public.

The Bala faction said the structure opened by Mark’s camp is being presented as the party’s national secretariat, but it is actually a private property and falls outside the party’s official framework. They described the move as an attempt to usurp leadership and undermine the will of genuine ADC members. Party officials are urging both the media and the public to disregard any directives coming from Mark’s side.

The faction also called on institutions such as INEC, security agencies, and other stakeholders to only recognize the legitimate ADC leadership. Bala emphasized that preserving the party’s democratic processes and internal governance is crucial, and any attempt to manipulate the party’s hierarchy will be legally challenged to protect the interests of true members.
