ADC To Uzodinma: Conduct LGA Election If APC Is Popular

Stephen Asaba-ase
The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has called on the Governor of Imo State State, Hope Uzodimma to commence the local government elections if he means well for the youths and if he also thinks that the All Progressives Congress, APC, is popular at the grassroots.
Congress news learnt that the National Vice Chairman of South-East, ADC, Chilos Godsent, threw this challenge to the Governor, knowing fully well that the ADC led democratic local government council system in Imo State had empowered 10,000 youths economically and politically in Imo State, including rapid rural communities development and a drastic reduction of crime rate in the state.
Chilos Godsent recognised that the democratic local government council system would facilitate the leadership ability and competence of the youths to emerge as council chairmen, deputy council chairmen, councilors, supervisory councilors, etc.
Meanwhile, the ADC wished to align itself with the popular opinions in the State that a democratic local government system would vehemently ease insecurity and crime rates in the State. “Because, some of the youths that are involved in these organised crimes may be doing so because of joblessness, unemployment and hardship currently bedeviling our dear Country. That is why they say that an idle mind is the devil’s workshop”.
However, he also corroborated the fact that, it’s regrettable for the past 16 years now, past and present government’s of Imo State had used local government caretaker committees, transition committees, and sole administrators as a conduit pipe to arbitrarily and recklessly continued their looting of the local government council funds.
“Finally, ADC is committed to lead the struggle for regime change in Imo State.”
