ADC Vows To End Money Politics, Godfatherism

By Micheal Chukwuebuka
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating wheel-dealing, money politics and godfatherism from Nigeria’s political system.
Speaking at a gathering hosted by the Conscience Forum on Sunday, September 14, the party’s National Secretary and former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, said the ADC’s mission to liberate the people was divinely ordained.
“ADC is not like any other party in Nigeria. From today, when you are interviewed and asked about the ideology of the ADC, tell them it is a people-friendly government. That is our most distinct commitment: serving the people,” Aregbesola declared while welcoming new members into the party.
The former Governor of Osun State stressed that the ADC was a people-centred platform, designed to give ordinary Nigerians, including workers, artisans and the wider population a voice in governance.
“You know them, and I also know them. Bye-bye to jaga jaga. Bye-bye to all of them,” he added, in a swipe at the political practices the party seeks to dismantle.
