The Initiative For Social Rights Concerns And Advancement (ISRCA), also known as “No Justice, No Peace,” is calling on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other top government officials to address the prolonged power outage in Delta Steel Company’s township, DSC in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to ISRCA, the 16-year power outage has had devastating effects on the community, driving many youths into criminal activities and hindering economic growth. The group emphasised that electricity is essential for industrialization and the survival of small-scale businesses.

ISRCA’s National Coordinator, Comrade Derrick Oritsematosan Agberen, insists that the Delta State Government, led by Governor Oborevwori, has a responsibility to restore power supply to the Steel community. The group also urged the Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, to address the power outage using federal allocations.

Other officials, including Hon. Francis E. Waive, Hon. Barr. Egbetamah Collins, and Hon. Karo Goru, are also being called upon to take action and address the challenges faced by Steel town residents.

ISRCA’s appeal highlights the urgent need for the Delta State Government to prioritise the restoration of power supply to Steel town and address the socio-economic challenges faced by its residents.
