Adebayo Warns Tinubu Risks Defeat in 2027 if Hardship Persists

By Diafa Doubra,
Former presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, has cautioned that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may not secure re-election in 2027 if current economic hardship and insecurity continue.
Speaking in a media interview, Adebayo noted that Nigerians are increasingly disillusioned with the government due to rising food prices, unemployment, and worsening insecurity across the country. He stressed that citizens are likely to “vote with their pain” if the administration fails to ease their suffering.
According to him, Nigerians are already exploring alternatives to the ruling party, signaling that the political landscape in 2027 could be shaped by widespread frustration. “No government survives long-term when people cannot feed their families or live in safety,” he said.
Adebayo urged the Tinubu administration to act quickly by implementing policies that directly improve citizens’ lives, warning that failure to do so would pave the way for opposition parties to gain momentum in the next election.
