A Niger Delta rights activist and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of the Delta state has written an open letter to High Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo over what he described as the barbaric killing of Ijaw youths in Edo state orchestrated by an ex-militant leader in Ondo state.

The letter which was sent to a Congress correspondent in Benin on Thursday night urged Tompolo to save the Nine Ijaw youths that were sent to prison in Edo state who were allegedly used by Ondo State Ex-militant leader to disrupt last Saturday’s governorship election in some parts of Edo State.

The letter called on Tompolo who doubled as the Ibebidouwei of the Ijaw nation to prevail on the suspected ex-militants to bring out the imprisoned six Ijaw Youths in connection with the election violence in Ondo state.

The letter reads, “I know that a lot of people will be wondering why the letter to Tompolo when l have access to him through various channels that l can use to ventilate my concern privately.
Well, you guys are not totally out of the track, but l deliberately choose this open path so that the whole world, especially agencies in Nigeria will be aware of the criminal activities of this ex-militant (name withheld) from Arogbo Ijaw in Ondo state, his Furgtive in Inikorogha community and their western zone Ijaw Youth Council ( IYC) foot soldiers.

“Also, we all should not forget that Tompolo is the Umbrella of the Ijaw Nation making the safety, protection and well-being of Ijaws across the globe his primary objective.
Again, another key reason is communicating with my father openly is for the parents of those Ijaw youths whom the ex-militant (name withheld) sent for the criminal assignment at Inikorogha, community, Ovia south west, Edo state from Arogbo to go to his(ex-militant) house and demand the whereabouts of their children because as you are all reading, the boys are cooling their feet in prison, Benin City, Edo state.

“Sir, a few days before the State House of Assembly election in Edo state which took place on 18/03/2023, information reached l and Hon. Godstime Ogidigba, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) waterways, surveillance and security that the ex-militant leader (name withheld), a young man that loves violence so much is about brainwashing Arogbo boys with a stipend to go and kill fellow Ijaws at Inikorogha community in Edo state.

“Having gathered enough intelligence, we reached out to relevant authorities who put plans in place on how to cage the hoodlums.
Sir, at 6:04 pm, 17/04/2023, the following thugs were caught at Tokofa, Ovia southwest, Edo state on their way from Arogbo in Ondo state.
1. Eric Muajoh
2. Lagos Kelvin
3. Destiny Boyo
4. Wilson Boyo
5. Blessing Boyo
6. George Goodluck
7. Michael Muajoh
8. Odisebra Boyo
9. I. D Ajele
10. Daniel Asebinomae.

“In the course of interrogation, they confessed to being the ex-militant (name withheld) boys and also suspected members of IYC whom the Charlatan sent to Inikorogha to support Okubo to kill, maim and terrorize the helpless community.
To cut a long story short, they were charged to magistrate court, Okada, Ovia North East, Edo state, 21/03/2023, and they have since been remanded in white house prison, Benin City.

“Sir, thoroughly look at the names of these Ijaw youths whom the ex-militant leader (namewithheld) sent on a suicide mission, 4 of them, the BOYOS are from the same parents.
Just imagine the number of Ijaw youths that must have gone to early graves through the inordinate ambition, greed, selfishness and lust for power by this ex-militant leader.

“Sir, seeing the boys wailing on their way to court, my heart bled and at the same time, Shame became my portion hearing derogative remarks being passed to Ijaw Nation.
In rounding off, something must be done to stop this ex-militant leader and another in Inikorogha from being thirsty for fellow Ijaw blood.

“Sir, in 2020 Governor Godwin Obaseki’s second term election, this particular militant leader in the company of his thugs was at Inikorogha on the election day, where he and his Inikorogha counterpart with their militants unleashed violence on the people of the community.

“Again this year, 25/02/2023, this particular militant leader repeated the same thing, but the only difference is that his hoodlums could not raise their finger because of adequate security put on the ground by the Edo state government,” he added.
