AIG Abdulrahman’s Legacy of Service Unimpeachable Despite Ex-EFCC Staff’s Lies— Group insist

By Abdullahi Alhassan, Kaduna
A civic group, Bauchi People’s Advocate for Good Governance has vehemently denied allegations made by Abdullahi Ishaq Jibrin, a dismissed Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) staff member, against retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Ahmed Abdulrahman. In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Aliyu Musa, the group described Jibrin’s claims as “baseless,” “malicious,” and “fabricated.”
According to the group, Jibrin’s allegations are a desperate attempt to tarnish AIG Abdulrahman’s distinguished reputation as a revered Islamic scholar, retired law enforcement leader, and philanthropist. The group accused Jibrin of obscuring his own history of corruption, fraud, and betrayal.
The Bauchi group categorically denied Jibrin’s claims of abuse of office, stating that AIG Abdulrahman did not investigate the Governor of Bauchi State. The group described the allegations as “ludicrous” and “cooked up narratives” that the people of Bauchi would reject.
The group also debunked Jibrin’s claim of working with AIG Abdulrahman for 17-20 years, saying records confirm his employment lasted only two years. During this period, Jibrin benefited excessively from AIG’s mentorship and financial support, the group said.
The group revealed that Jibrin was dismissed from the EFCC for extorting money and a car from victims of financial crimes. An EFCC in-house investigation initiated by AIG Abdulrahman himself exposed Jibrin’s corruption, leading to his dismissal.
The group said Jibrin’s boasts of “FBI training” and elite courses are as fraudulent as his character. These lies, alongside his dismissal, render him unfit for public trust, the group added.
The Advocate group highlighted AIG Abdulrahman’s repeated benevolence toward Jibrin, which has been met with slander. The group said AIG Abdulrahman provided Jibrin with ₦200,000 twice to support his relocation to Bauchi and funded a pharmacy venture, which Jibrin squandered on personal gains.
Despite this, Jibrin has chosen to “bite the hand that fed him,” weaponizing his past association for extortion and defamation, the group alleged.
The People’s Advocate for Good Governance has challenged Jibrin to publicly substantiate his lies by producing evidence to support his claims. The group demanded that Jibrin produce his appointment letter, FBI training certificates, witnesses, and documents to corroborate his allegations. Until Jibrin provides credible evidence, his allegations would remain “reckless fiction,” the group warned.
The group announced that it has initiated legal proceedings against Jibrin for criminal defamation, fraudulent misrepresentation, and attempted extortion. The group said it would pursue justice relentlessly until Jibrin’s malicious campaign is buried.
The group urged the media and public to ignore Jibrin’s falsehoods, describing his actions as reeking of envy, greed, and a pathological need for relevance. The group called on all Nigerians, particularly the good people of Bauchi, to reject the lies of a disgraced fraudster.
The Bauchi People’s Advocate for Good Governance reaffirmed AIG Abdulrahman’s legacy of integrity, community service, and Islamic scholarship, saying it remains unshaken despite Jibrin’s malicious campaign. The group assured that AIG Abdulrahman’s reputation would continue to shine, despite Jibrin’s attempts to tarnish it.
The Bauchi People’s Advocate for Good Governance has reiterated its commitment to promoting good governance and accountability in Bauchi State. The group said it would continue to speak out against corruption and malfeasance, and defend the reputation of individuals who have been unfairly targeted.
