Amnesty Delegates Network Commends Dr Otuaro’s Visionary Leadership, Urges Beneficiaries to Support Him

The leadership of the presidential Amnesty programme, PAP Delegates Network has commended the administrator of PAP, Chief Dennis Brutu Otuaro PhD for the transformation of the Amnesty programme.

 

According to a press statement signed by its National Chairman, Alfred Mewariwei Boyed highlighted the leadership qualities of the Administrator in handling the affairs of the Amnesty programme, adding that his positive and impactful initiatives had stabilised the programme.

 

The ex-agitator, Boyed, while appreciating Chief Dennis Brutu Otuaro’s inclusive initiatives for transforming the delegates of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, commended him for his unwavering commitment to restoring peace to Niger Delta and more encompassing scholarship program of PAP.

 

He emphasised that during the meeting the administrator held with the leadership of the Niger Delta Amnesty Delegates Network at Bon Hotel, Warri, Delta State, he (Dr Otuaro) promised to uplift 1,000 ex-agitators for the first phase for the empowerment scheme he had in mind for the delegates and more scholarship slots.

 

The statement reads, “Chief Dr. Burutu Otuaro’s works under the Niger Delta Presidential Amnesty Programme exemplifies a visionary approach to resolving the challenges faced by the region. His programs are focused on empowering ex-agitators through education, skills development, and economic opportunities.

 

Boyed emphasised the transformative potential of these initiatives, noting some of the benefits could be long-term while others could be short terms.

However, the chairman is keen for these empowerment programs to be initiated in time, underscoring the urgency for delivering on commitments that can significantly enhance the livelihoods of the ex-agitators.

 

“It is essential that we act decisively and swiftly to initiate the empowerment programs,” Comrade Alfred urged. “The time for action is now, and hinted the pressure and insults he receives from most of the delegates who believe that he works for the administrator.

 

While applauding Dr. Otuaro’s efforts, Boyed addressed concerns regarding Owuopele Owus, a detained ex-agitator, he compassionately appealed to Chief Dr. Burutu Otuaro to use his good office and influence to facilitate the release of Owoupele Enierokumor Owous, the leader of the Reformed Ex-agitator Forum , asserting that leaders, regardless of their circumstances, should be treated with dignity.

 

Moreover, Boyed took the opportunity to dispel rumors circulating about a supposed declaration of him being wanted by Chief Dr. Dennis Burutu Otuaro. He firmly clarified that there was no truth to such claims, encouraging transparency and mutual respect among leaders and stakeholders in the region.

 

He also issued a stern warning against the disparagement of high-profile leaders such as Tompolo and other notable authorities in the Niger Delta region by delegates, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a respectful dialogue within the Niger Delta. “Let us refrain from barbaric acts of insult and abuse toward our leaders and authorities,” he stated firmly. “Unity and respect are essential for the progress of the Niger Delta, and I will no longer condone any actions that undermine this principle or any one insulting our leaders particularly in our Whatsapp platform, adding that if there was any delegate that have personal issues with any leader should exploit another alternative to express their grievances, not in NDA Delegates Network.

 

In consolidating his address, Boyed reiterated the vital role of collective action and responsible leadership in steering the Niger Delta toward a more prosperous future. His appeal to Chief Dennis Burutu Otuaro was both a call for action and an invitation to join forces in fostering reconciliation and empowerment in the region. Together, with initiatives like the Presidential Amnesty Programme, the dream of a peaceful and thriving Niger Delta can become a reality.

 

Stating further, he urged ex-agitators to look towards the future, the collaboration between visionary leaders like Chief Dennis Burutu Otuaro and dedicated organizations like the NDA Delegates Network would be pivotal in achieving lasting change, peace , growth and stability for the Niger Delta.
