APC turning Nigeria into totalitarian state – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of dragging Nigeria towards a one-party, totalitarian system.

In a statement released by its National Publicity Secretary, the PDP said the APC has consistently undermined democratic principles through intimidation of opposition voices, manipulation of electoral processes, and policies that concentrate power in the hands of a few. The party argued that these actions are gradually eroding the freedoms and rights that Nigerians fought hard to secure.

According to the PDP, the Tinubu-led administration has failed to deliver on its promises of economic relief and national security, instead focusing on silencing dissent. The opposition party urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and defend democracy, warning that unchecked political dominance could endanger the nation’s future.

The APC is yet to officially respond to the allegation.
