APC welcomes Kokori Ward 6 defunct PDP Decampees

Ethiope East Local Government Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Julius Ogboru, on Sunday formally welcome all Decampees of the defunct Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kokori Ward 6 to the APC.

The event which took place at the residence of Ward 6 APC leader, Chief (Barr) G.S. Avwunudiogba, was well attended by political leaders and party faithfuls.

Chief Ogboru while presenting the APC symbolic Broom to the leader of defunct PDP in the Ward, Rt Hon Sunny Akpodiogaga Emeyese, charged the new members to join political forces with the the ward Exco to mobilize heavily for the party in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

He disclosed that President Bola Tinubu and the state governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, are unopposed in Delta till May 29, 2031, noting that there are no factions or divisions within the political family in the State under the firm leadership of governor Oborevwori.

New members were made to fill the ward APC membership forms to complement the earlier online registrations, and their membership cards duly signed and was presented to them by Kokori ward 6 APC chairman, Comrade Jacob Obakaburhobo.

The ward Chairman urged members to place the party’s interest far and above personal interest at all times, describing Rt Hon Emeyese, Dr Fred Oghenesivbe, Chief Sunday Omovie, and other political figures who defected to the APC as experienced and well respected individuals in Kokori community and Agbon Kingdom. He assured that their membership of APC would fasttrack growth, progress and electioneering victory of APC in Kokori Ward 6, come 2027.

Speaking on behalf of the Decampees, Rt Hon Sunny Emeyese said the entire defunct PDP structure in Kokori Ward 6 defected same day with the State Governor to the APC, to demonstrate their unalloyed loyalty to governor Oborevwori, and that it was important to do same at the ward level in fulfilment of all political righteousness.

The former member of the House of Representatives thanked governor Oborevwori for appointing over 25 people in Kokori Ward 6 as his aides, including himself as Chairman of the Governing Council of the College of Education Mosogar, Dr Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe as Director General of Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, and others as Board members, EAs, SSAs and SAs, respectively.

He assured the LGA chairman of APC and that of ward 6 Exco of their commitment to grow and sustain the progress of APC in the area, and to place the interest of the party above personal interests.

In the same vein, the Director General of Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Barrister Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, while speaking to newsmen at the sideline of the event, said governor Oborevwori and President Tinubu are unopposed till 2031, while thanking Chief Ogboru and Barrister Avwunudiogba for working so hard to keep the party united before their eventual defection to the APC.

And on the issue of politic parties coalition against President Tinubu in 2027, Oghenesivbe said any political weapon fashion against president Tinubu’s reelection will crash like the huge log before the Axe, noting that the nation’s steady progress is visible in all sectors of the economy under Mr President.

He assured that President Tinubu will continue to fix inflation through the implementation of the federal government socioeconomic remodelling strategies, backed by the political willpower of Mr President.

The Delta Bureau of Communications Director General cited the removal of fuel subsidy as a major breakthrough for all 36 states including FCT which now receive huge monthly federal allocations to invest in infrastructure development, grow agriculture, science and technology, as well as other sectors of the economy.

The event was well attended by leaders of Kokori APC ward 6, including; Chief Barrister G.S Avwunudiogba, Chief Mrs Faith Majemite, Chief Martin Egharevwa (A Federal Commissioner), Olorogun Paul Evwierhoma, immediate past National President of the National Association of Student Union, NANS, Comrade Lucky Emonefe, Chief Sunday Omovie, Okakuro Sunday Umunade, Hon Asohro Theophilus, Chief James Akpoisheri, EA to the Governor, Comrade Oghenevwede Sylver Obarume, Chief Felix Oniakuko, among others.
