Army conducts screening exercise for warrant officers

The Nigerian Army recently kicked off a screening exercise for warrant officers at the 2 Division Headquarters in Ibadan. Major General AA Adekeye inaugurated the yearly promotion process, praising candidates for their dedication and service. The exercise involves various assessments, and candidates are urged to maintain discipline and adhere to instructions. The process will run until September 25, 2025.
In his address, Major General Adekeye praised the candidates for their dedication and service, noting that reaching the rank of Warrant Officer reflects their hard work and commitment. He emphasized that the Department of Personnel Management oversees soldiers’ careers from enlistment to discharge and is responsible for recommending qualified candidates for promotion.
Major General Adekeye highlighted the importance of adhering to the guidelines in the updated service terms and policies during the exercise. Candidates will undergo various assessments, including medical exams, weapon handling, and general knowledge tests. He urged them to maintain discipline, avoid performance-enhancing substances, and adhere to instructions meticulously.
The Board President, Brigadier General MC Akinojo, and his team were encouraged to maintain professionalism and fairness throughout the process. Major General Adekeye expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General OO Oluyede, and the General Officer Commanding, Major General CR Nnebeife, for their support and preparations for the exercise.
Major General Nnebeife assured candidates of the Board’s diligence and objectivity and advised them to stay informed and focused on their professional development. He stressed the importance of discipline and integrity during the exercise, which will run from September 4 to 25, 2025. The event is a crucial step in recognizing and rewarding the skills, experience, and leadership qualities of the candidates as they face evolving security challenges.
