Bandits opened fire to motorists and commuters, kidnapped many in Zamfara

Bandits blocked road shut motorists and commuters, kidnapped many along Anka, Gurusu, Daji Takwas villages to Gummi road in Zamfara state.

Speaking to one of the victims who sustained gun wounds while driving identified as Alhaji Muhammad currently admitted at Federal Medical Center Gusau, said, the Bandits blocked the road at three different strategic points shutting sporadically.

“We were on our way driving to Nasarawa-Burkullu early Friday morning around 9:00 am, we suddenly saw Bandits coming out from the bush by road side shooting and aiming us but I managed to continue driving despite I sustained two bullet wounds as you can see on my elbow and my leg” Alhaji said.

Alhaji Muhammad further said, his car conveyed ten people of the same family therefore he decided to sacrifice and endure the injury to save his family members.

“We meet another Bandits gate along Gidan Manya, they started shooting aiming tires of my car but they were not successful, when they saw me manage to continue driving, they followed us using their motorcycles and continued shooting at us, my younger brother Alhaji Rabi’u had already given up and advised me to stop but I opted the decision. Alhaji Muhammad narrated.

Alhaji Muhammad also said, the bandits attacked people along Gadar Manya and people left their motorcycles, belongings and ran to save their lives.

The victim further narrated how the Bandits packed all the people conveyed in three cars and one trailer driver who usually transported firewood from the area to Gusau.

“They kidnapped all the people conveyed by the three cars and one old age person a driver of firewood truck, we have seen four cars empty. Alhaji Muhammad said.

Alhaji Muhammad also said, after being admitted to Nasarawa-Burkullu Hospital where he received first aid treatment, they later refer him to Federal medical center Gusau.

“On our way to Gusau for medication with military escorts, we still met bandits on the same way kidnapped petroleum tanker truck driver and waiting for more but the army rescued him while the bandits run at large living behind their motorcycles and rifles which was taken by the army, it surprised me, in front of us the Bandits are confronting the soldiers but thank God they were overpowered. Alhaji lamented.
