Bayelsa deputy governor Ewhrudjakpo dies

Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, has passed away at the age of 60. He collapsed in his office in Yenagoa around 1:30 pm and was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa, where he was pronounced dead.

Senator Ewhrudjakpo, who served as Deputy Governor since 2020, was a trained administrator, lawyer, and former federal legislator. He represented Bayelsa West Senatorial District in the National Assembly from 2019 to 2020.

The cause of death has not been officially disclosed, but sources suggest it may be related to a cardiac emergency, possibly linked to his demanding workload.
