Bayern Munich has strongly denounced the “inhumane” racial abuse of 18-year-old French attacker Mathys Tel on social media following Saturday’s 3-0 German Super Cup defeat by RB Leipzig.

The club stated that whoever writes such vilely racist things is not a fan of FC Bayern.

“Whoever writes such vilely racist things is not a fan of FC Bayern. We have your back, Mathys, and you have our full support,” the club tweeted on social network X, formerly known as Twitter, after falling to the German Cup winners on Sunday.

Tel was replaced after 64 minutes by England striker Harry Kane, whose move from Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday reportedly cost Bayern a Bundesliga record €100 million.
