Boat mishap kills 5, 6 rescued in Kano

About Five persons have been declared dead and six others were rescued in a boat mishap at Kanwa Dam in Madobi Local Government Area of Kano State on Sunday.

The Public Relations Officer, of Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi made the confirmation to newsmen on Sunday.

According to Saminu Abdullahi, “The incident occurred on April 22, at about 05:40 p.m.”

He narrated that eleven persons were on the boat, stating that six were rescued alive, while five died.

Abdullahi gave the names of those who lost their lives in the mishap as Abdulrazak Nabara, 40; Dalha Muktar-Atamma, 40; Mustapha Ibrahim, 45; Umar Isah, 35, and Umar Idris, 35.

He asserted that the victims were from Fagge in the Fagge Local Government Area of the state.
