The Commissioner of Police in Borno State, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, on Wednesday received executive members of Hadinkan Hausawa da Hausawan Duniya, Borno State chapter, who paid a courtesy and condolence visit to the state command headquarters in Maiduguri.
The delegation, led by its chairman, Alhaji Danladi Yusuf, commended the police command for what it described as its steadfast efforts in restoring and maintaining peace in the insurgency-hit state. Yusuf said the visit was aimed at formally introducing the association, whose primary mandate is the promotion of unity and peaceful coexistence among communities.
He also conveyed the group’s condolences over the recent death of the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), DCP Ahmed Ibn Umar.
Responding, CP Abdulmajid thanked the delegation for what he called a “timely and encouraging” visit. He lauded the association’s peace-building initiatives and pledged the command’s continued support for programmes that foster stability and social cohesion.
The police commissioner also expressed appreciation for the group’s sympathy over the loss of the senior officer.
The visit was confirmed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso.
