BREAKING: Ijaw, Itsekiri coalition Urges Dr Tekedor Penasine to contest Warri South West Assembly Seat
By Monday Peters, Abuja
A socio-political group under the auspices of the Warri South West Ijaw/Itsekiri Coalition for Good Governance, WSWIICGG, has thrown its weight behind Deacon (Amb.) Dr Tekedor Clement Penasine, urging him to contest for the Warri South West State House of Assembly seat. Penasine, the APC candidate for the seat in 2023, is seen as a unifying figure who can bring peace and development to the constituency.
The coalition, comprising Ijaw and Itsekiri members, believed Penasine’s candidacy can bridge the ethnic divide and foster unity in the Warri South West constituency. They cited his efforts in reuniting Ijaws and Itsekiris in Warri and its environs, saying previous representatives have failed to deliver.
The group in a statement by its chairman, Comrade Tuoyo Matthew,, and Mr Tare Pamobowei, Secretary, expressed confidence in Penasine’s ability to represent the constituency effectively. The move highlights the growing desire for unity and development in Warri South West.
They described him as outspoken, bold, brave, influential, and intelligent – attributes they deem essential for effective representation.
However, Penasine’s candidacy is seen as a step towards reconciliation and progress amongst Ijaws and Itsekiris in the constituency.
