BREAKING: Ijaw Youths Shut down INEC Headquarters Over Non-implementation of Warri Federal Constituency Delineation Report

Tension is heightened as Ijaw youths under the auspices of the Operation Rescue Ijaw Nation Crusaders (ORINC) have stormed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Headquarters in Abuja, protesting the delay in implementing the Warri Federal Constituency delineation report.

The group, led by Ijaw stakeholders, is demanding that INEC announce the final ward delineation result, citing a Supreme Court judgment that ordered the commission to conduct a comprehensive re-delineation exercise.

The protest follows months of tension and warnings from Ijaw leaders, who accuse INEC of deliberately delaying the process and favoring certain ethnic groups. ORINC has threatened to escalate protests and disrupt oil production if INEC fails to comply with the court order.

INEC has acknowledged the concerns, stating that the commission is committed to fairness, equity, and the rule of law. However, the delay has sparked fears of electoral injustice and potential violence in the Warri Federal Constituency.
