Following what is described as the abysmal defeat of Chelsea at midweek, the Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard has said that he ‘is not worried,’ noting that he took the job knowing the team was in jeopardy.

He said this after his team had suffered a fifth straight defeat since he took over the Blues on an interim basis.

Congress learnt that the Blues suffered another defeat in the midweek, losing 2-0 to Brentford to extend their poor run to a single goal scored in the last seven games.

Meanwhile, the former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan had urged the former Everton boss to leave the Chelsea job, citing that the club’s owners, Todd Boehly and Co had brought him on board to be ridiculed.

Speaking, a former Premier League forward, Darren Bent stressed that the former England midfielder might be ending his managerial career if he fails to remedy the situation at Chelsea.

The former Chelsea and England star was asked whether he was worried about the impact the club’s current demise might have on his reputation.

“I took the job knowing the jeopardy of what it might be, but I’m very proud to manage here.

“People will perceive you differently anyway. In the short term, I’m not worried. I want to win games, that’s clear. But I understand the problems as to why we’re probably not winning games,” he noted.
