Chief Ari’s demise: Okowa’s aide Ozobo condoles with family, Gbaramatu council of chiefs, says Ijaw has lost pathfinder

Following the death of High Chief Jonathan Ari, the Special Assistant to the governor of Delta State, Comrade Ozobo Austin has sympathized with the deceased family and council of chiefs of Gbaramatu Kingdom.

Ozobo who signed the condolence register on Wednesday at his(Chief Ari) residence said Ijaw nation had lost a pathfinder and torch bearer, stating that his death had created a vacuum in the leadership of Ijaw nation.

The governor’s aide lamented that Chief Ari died at a time his wealth of experience was highly needed to galvanize against oppressive tendencies of the federal government in the Niger Delta region.

According to him, Chief Ari was a Pilar and a leading voice in Ijaw nation during the dark days of Niger Delta region and Gbaramatu Kingdom in particular.

He reportedly died at 11:50pm Tuesday April 4, 2023, at the age of 84 years after a protracted illness and prompt medical interventions both home and abroad.

The Okowa appointee asserted that even if he is dead, his legacies would out live him and he would be remembered for his numerous contributions in Ijaw nation and Niger Delta at large.

He however, prayed God’s fortitude upon the bereaved family and council of chiefs of Gbaramatu Kingdom to bear the irreparable lost.

It was learned Chief Ari until his death was the Puwei of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
