COAS Lt. Gen. Oluyade hands over well furnished Hospital and Ambulance in Kanoma

The Nigerian Army hands over well furnished Hospital and Ambulance in Kanoma and vow to continue strengthening civil military relations for effective security outcomes and civic cooperation all the time.
The Chief of Army staff Lt. Gen. O. O Oluyade who was represented by the One Bridge Headquarters Nigerian Army Commander Zamfara State, Bridgedier Gen Mustapha Jimoh.
The chief of Army staff Lt. Gen. Oluyade said, the project represents more than just bricks, mortar, and equipment and It is a testament to the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to supporting the wellbeing of communities.
“In line with the COAS’ vision of “A professional Nigerian Army ready to accomplish assigned missions within a joint environment in defence of Nigeria.” Lt. Gen. Oluyade stated.
The Chief of Army staff also said the decision to remodel the Kanoma primary healthcare facility is part of the Special Intervention Project and also to serve as a strategic symbol reflects the Army’s belief that security is not limited to the battlefield alone but extends to the health, welfare, and development of the people.
“A healthy community is indeed the foundation of a safe and secure society. Gen. Oluyade said.
Lt. Gen. Oluyade has specially acknowledged and commended Maj. Gen. Abdullahi .M Kanoma who secured the intervention and ensured its speedy and quality delivery of the project.
“Maj. Gen. A. M Kanoma’s dedication, loyalty, and love for his people inspired the sitting of this project here. His service to the Nigerian Army and his contributions to his community remain exemplary and worthy of emulation. The COAS said.
The COAS urged the community leaders, health workers, and people of Kanoma to take full ownership of the facility.
“Maintain it, safeguard it, and ensure that it serves the purpose for which it has been remodelled to provide quality and accessible healthcare for men, women, and children of this community and beyond.
The COAS further reassured the citizens of the Nigerian Army’s commitment to continue supporting national development initiatives across the country.
In his speech, the facilitator of the project and son of the soil Major Gen. Abdullahi Aminu Kanoma called on his community to continue supporting the efforts of the Nigerian Army in ensuring the protection of life and properties by providing intelligence information on the activities of the terrorists.
While giving the background of Primary Healthcare for the Army’s intervention, GOC Sokoto Division Maj. Gen. Ajowse represented by the then Engr. of the project and former GOC Sokoto Division Brigadier Gen. Abdullahi Danladi urged the people of Kanoma village to judiciously maintain the health facility as multiple communities surrounding Kanoma and up to about twenty kilometers or there about will be heavily reliant on the facility remodeled by the Nigerian Army.
“Before the construction of the facility, the people of Kanoma community as at then had to travel to Gusau or any nearby 40km to access even minor medical issues.
“The condition of this Health Care Centre was in a dilapidated state, lacking some basic amenities. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) graciously directed and approved funds for the execution of COAS Special Intervention Civil Military Cooperation Projects Scheme (CSICPS) to be sited in Kanoma. Brigadier Gen. Danladi said.
Responding, the Maru Local Government Chairman Bello Jabaka and District Head of Kanoma Yahaya Muhammad Kanoma applauded the gesture and promise to maintain the project.
Bello Jabaka also said, Maru Local Government spent millions of naira monthly to fight malaria across ten political wards of the Local Government.
“Healthcare is one of our optimum priorities and we spend millions of naira monthly to provide free drugs and consumables to all our Hospitals and primary healthcare centers apart from fleeting and fumigation of the villages and town to fight maleria. Jabaka said.
Maj. Gen. Mustapha Jimoh later handed over the remodeled and renovated primary healthcare to the Maru Local Government Chairman Bello Jabaka and the Kanoma District Head Yahaya Muhammad Kanoma “I am deeply honoured to stand here today on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen OO Oluyede, to officially present and hand over this newly remodelled and renovated Primary Health Care Facility to the good people of Kanoma. COAS said.
