Court Restrains Operemor Monarch, HRM Ekiomi Over Dispute

The Delta State High Court sitting in Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state has granted an interim injunction against the traditional ruler of Operemor kingdom, HRM Oweiagbe Ekiomi following a suit challenging his nomination and subsequent election.
The suit titled: No UHC/94/2023 Newstyle Ogirenwarekaemi versus DC Barr Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, deputy governor of Delta State, Godknows Angele, chairman Burutu LGA, HRM (Dr) Oweiagbe John Ekiomi, and 5 others as defendants was delivered on Tuesday 9th May 2023.
The presiding judge, Gesikeme-Akebofa Marry(Mrs) granted the interim injunction, restraining the 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 defendants from having dealings with the 3rd defendant pending the determination of the substantial suit.
The judge while delivering the judgement ordered that the 3rd defendant should not be paid salary and any allowances either through their agents, privies or servants pending further order of the court.
However, the court adjourned till May 23, 2023, for a hearing of the substantial suit.
