Cult war kills 3 in Sagamu

Pandemonium in Sagamu, the headquarters of Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State as a cult clash killed three persons on Tuesday.
Congress reports that members of Eiye and Aiye confraternities, lock-horns in a supremacy war on Tuesday, firing gunshots at each other.
Sources said three persons were killed in a clash that rendered commercial activities epileptic in Sagamu town.
The fracas which caused serious panic led to several residents sustaining varying degrees of injuries in the area.
It was gathered that one of the deceased persons was a fuel station attendance in Ijokun, adding that he was shot in the head.
“We don’t know if he was a cultist, we don’t know what happened. We just saw that he was shot dead by cultists. He’s a petrol attendant at Awabat in Ijokun,” a mother of one, who pleaded anonymity, said.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told newsmen that three persons died in the fracas. He also stated that some of the rampaging cultists had been arrested by the police.
“Yes, three persons were killed in Sagamu by cultists. But we have arrested many of them. The Commissioner of Police has directed our tactical teams to be on standby. We have started trailing those involved and many are in custody. We are clamping in on them, more will still be arrested,” he added.
