Customs Officer Killed As Armed Bandits Attack NCS Post in Kebbi

A Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) outpost in Maje, a community in Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State, was attacked by suspected bandits believed to be members of the Lakurawa sect.
The assailants, according to preliminary reports, invaded the facility in large numbers, before opening fire indiscriminately.
One Customs officer, Deputy Superintendent Sadiq Muhammad, was confirmed dead.
Eyewitnesses said the attack caused panic among residents, forcing many to flee into nearby bushes for safety. Security operatives were promptly deployed to restore calm and pursue the attackers.
The funeral prayer for the deceased officer was conducted at the Abdullahi Fodio Palace in Birnin Kebbi, with Governor Nasir Idris and other top government officials in attendance.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customs Service, Kebbi Area Command, Salisu Tajuddeen, said one officer lost his life and added that investigations are ongoing to apprehend the culprits.
