It is a time when the people of Gbaramatu come together to honor their ancestors, give thanks for a bountiful harvest and to showcase their rich cultural heritage to the world.

This year’s festival has attracted people from all walks of life, including tourists, dignitaries, and cultural enthusiasts from various continents at today marked day one of the popular events. The festival, which is held every year, is a major boost for the economy of Delta State as it brings in a surge of revenue from tourism.

Residents of the kingdom expressed their delight at the large turnout of visitors for the festival. They said, “We are extremely elated to have people from different parts of the world gather here to celebrate our culture and tradition. This festival is a demonstration to the unity and diversity of our people.”
The festival features an array of activities, including traditional dances, art exhibitions, and cultural displays. The highlight of the event is the grand parade, where participants dress in colorful traditional attire and showcase their traditional dances and rituals.
For many, this is their first time experiencing the Amaseikumor festival, and the excitement is evident on their faces. “I have never witnessed anything like this before, it’s truly a sight to behold,” exclaimed a tourist from the United States in 2024.
