Delta CP presents N33.2m to families of deceased policemen

The Commissioner of Police Delta State, CP Wale Abass on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman, PSC+, FDC, NPM, NEAPS, CFR presented cheques of Thirty-Three Million, Two Hundred and Seventy-Five Thousand, Eight Hundred And Forty Naira (#33,275,840) to families of deceased policemen who died in active service.

This was disclosed in a statement by Delta command’s spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe on Saturday.

According to Edafe, “The cheques issued on behalf of the IGP are parts of the Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident, and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Schemes”

The police commissioner while presenting the cheques commended the gesture of the IGP, adding that the cheques would in no small way act as a boost to the families and also a way of letting them know that though their loved ones are no more, the force did not forget their sacrifices.

However, one of the beneficiaries in her remark on behalf of other beneficiaries thanked the Inspector General of Police for the gesture shown to them and assured that the money would be spent judiciously.
