Delta LG chairman Oromoni laid late wife Evangelist Rosemary to rest amid tears

The chairman of Warri South West Local Government Council, Chief Sylvester Oromoni has bid a tearful farewell to his beloved late wife Evangelist Rosemary Oromoni who was laid to rest on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in Ogbe-Ijoh Town, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State. The burial ceremony was attended by top personalities from all walks of life, including family, friends, and sympathizers who paid their last respects to the deceased.
As the mourners gathered to pay their last respects, a palpable sense of grief filled the air. Sympathizers, family members, and friends were overcome with emotion as they remembered the deceased’s profound impact on society, with tears streaming down their faces. The collective sorrow was a testament to the deceased’s enduring legacy and the lives she touched during her lifetime.
It was learnt that Late Evangelist Rosemary Oromoni was the mother of Sylvester Oromoni Jr., a Dowen College student whose death in 2021 sparked nationwide outrage and calls for justice.
Congress gathered that Mrs. Oromoni reportedly never fully recovered from the emotional trauma of losing her son who passed away on November 25, 2024, after a prolonged health battle following an alleged attack by fellow students.
However, a night of tribute was held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the family compound, No. 8 Edah Street, Opposite Oasis Hotel, Okumagba Estate, Warri, while the funeral service and interment took place on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in Ogbe-Ijoh town, followed by a reception at the family residence.
Consequently, a thanksgiving service was held on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at God’s Grace Ministry Inc., No. 5b Arubayi Street, Okumagba Layout, Warri, Delta State.
