By Sola Omoniyi, Lagos
Following the increase in pump price of petroleum after removal of subsidy by the Federal Government, the price of aviation fuel and cooking gas have drastically reduced.
As at June 1, the aviation fuel which sells for N800 had dropped to N650 in Lagos and N680 in Abuja, the country’s Capital city.
However, the price is still slightly high in some areas like Kano, Maiduguri and Port Harcourt.
One of Air Craft operator who confirmed the latest development stated that the he want to believe the reduction of the aviation fuel and cooking gas are as a result of the forces of demand and supply.
He maintained that since the petroleum subsidy had been removed and pump price had increased, the aviation fuel had however reduced.
The aviation fuel, which is also known as Jet A1 skyrocketed beyond expected in year 2022 to over N1, 000 per liter.
