Driver on- the-run as truck crushes two year- old -boy in Rivers

A two year old boy has been killed by a reckless truck driver in Rivers state.

Congress learnt that a trailer conveying goods crushed a child to death along Rumuosi axis in Obio/Akpor Local government area of Rivers state.

According to an eyewitness, it was reported that the driver was at high speed and lost control when he approached the Rumuosi junction.

It was reported that when the driver was trying to avoid ramming into people when he claimed the median, the truck fell on one side ans crushed the toddler.

The deceased’s mother and two others children who were injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The source said, “You know there is always a traffic jam at the Rumuosi Junction on this road.

“The truck driver was at top speed and he could not apply break suddenly when he sighted the traffic jam. So what he did because of the speed was that he climbed the median.”

However, the driver was yet to be found, adding he had ran away.
