•Warns Arewa Youths calling for the cancellation of contract, sack of petrol minister to steer clear

Ijaw Youth Council of Gbaraun Clan, Western zone, Edo state has rejoiced with High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo for the award of an oil surveillance pipeline contract to him.

This was contained in a statement signed by Secretary Comrade Victor (aka Victor Reply) on Monday.

Victor who doubled as Secretary of concerned Ijaws of Siluko Ward said the award of the surveillance contract to Tompolo was well deserved.

The group had also warned Arewa Youths calling for the cancellation of the contract and sack of the minister for Petroleum (State) Timipre Sylva, the Chief of defence staff and the group managing director of NNPC Mele kyari to steer clear.

The statement reads: “We want to use this medium to congratulate High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias TOMPOLO for this laudable contract being awarded to him by the Nigerian Government.

“This shows the level of trust the Nigerian state has reposed in him. They say honour is given to those that deserve it, TOMPOLO has been tested and trusted, hence this award.

“We the Ijaws from the Edo extraction join the host of other well-meaning Ijaws to celebrate with him for this laudable contract, and we the Ijaws most especially from the Gbaraun clan Edo State call for inclusion into the programme.

“Again, we want to use this medium to call on the attention of the so-called AREWA YOUTHS and every intruder to steer clear from this issue, taken effect from today, reasons being that TOMPOLO has been selected based on trust and as a son of the soil to pilot this contract because it is a fact that no other ethnic individual can be allowed to supervise the affairs of gold deposits in Zamfara state.

“So we give this as a last warning to those that are calling for the resignation of the minister for Petroleum Timipre Sylva, the Chief of defence staff and the group managing director of NNPC, Mele kyari to steer clear to avoid being crushed,” he noted.
